Rules & Structure

MakeX Inspire will be conducted across two age-based categories: Group 1 and Group 2. The age eligibility for each group will be defined by the competition organizers. Each group will be ranked independently, and the top-performing teams in each group will advance to the playoff stage.

Competition Format at a Glance

Stage Format
Mission Preparation 10 missions prepared by participants before competition day
Mission Selection 2 missions randomly assigned by the Referee using a chit system
Qualification Rounds 2 rounds per team
Qualification Ranking Combined score from Round 1 and Round 2
Playoff Selection Top 8 teams from each group
Quarterfinals 8 teams → 4 teams
Semifinals 4 teams → 2 teams
Final 2 teams → Winner + 1st Runner-Up
3rd-Place Match Determines 2nd Runner-Up

Participants will prepare themselves for a total of ten (10) different missions before the competition day. On the competition day, the Referee will use a chit-based random selection system to determine which missions a team must perform.

  • A total of 10 missions will be available in the competition mission set.
  • Teams are expected to prepare for all 10 missions before the competition.
  • For each competition round, two (2) missions will be selected using the official chit system.
  • The Referee will conduct the chit selection and announce the missions assigned to the participating team.
  • The selected missions will be the missions that the team must complete during that round.
  • The mission selection process is intended to ensure that teams demonstrate preparation across the complete mission set.

Each team will participate in two (2) qualification rounds. In each round, the team will be required to complete the two missions assigned through the chit system.

  • Every participating team receives two qualification attempts.
  • Each round consists of two randomly selected missions.
  • The score from each round will be recorded separately.
  • Scores from both rounds will contribute to the team's qualification ranking.
  • Teams must complete the missions according to the instructions and scoring criteria provided by the competition officials.

Qualification Score = Round 1 Score + Round 2 Score

Example: If a team scores 85 points in Round 1 and 92 points in Round 2, its qualification score will be 85 + 92 = 177 points.

Teams will be ranked separately within Group 1 and Group 2. The qualification ranking will determine which teams advance to the playoff stage.

The top eight (8) teams from each group, based on the qualification ranking, will advance to the playoff stage.

Category Qualification Ranking Playoff Teams
Group 1 Ranked independently Top 8
Group 2 Ranked independently Top 8

The playoff stage will be conducted separately for Group 1 and Group 2. The eight qualified teams in each group will compete through the following stages.

Playoff Stage Progression
Quarterfinals 8 teams → 4 teams
Semifinals 4 teams → 2 teams
Final 2 teams → Winner + 1st Runner-Up
3rd-Place Match Determines the 2nd Runner-Up

Three podium positions will be declared in each age group. The final standings will be:

Position Title Determined By
1st Winner Winner of the Final
2nd 1st Runner-Up Loser of the Final
3rd 2nd Runner-Up Winner of the 3rd-Place Match

If two or more teams have the same cumulative qualification score, the following tie-breaking order will be applied:

  • Highest score in an individual qualification round.
  • Highest score in the other qualification round.
  • Lowest cumulative completion time across the two qualification rounds, where applicable.
  • Additional tie-break round or match, if the tie remains unresolved.

Each qualification and playoff match will be scored using the official MakeX Inspire mission-scoring system. The final score will reflect successful completion of assigned missions and any applicable penalties or deductions defined in the competition rules.

  • All teams within the same group will be evaluated using the same scoring criteria.
  • Mission scores will be recorded and verified by the designated competition officials.
  • The Referee's chit selection determines the missions assigned to the team for the relevant round.
  • Any penalties, deductions, timing rules, or mission-specific scoring conditions will be applied according to the official competition rules.
  • All teams within a group will be evaluated using the same competition and scoring criteria.
  • All qualification scores will be recorded and verified by designated competition officials.
  • Teams are responsible for preparing for all 10 missions, regardless of which missions are ultimately selected.
  • The chit-based mission selection will be conducted by the Referee or an authorized competition official.
  • Qualification ranking determines playoff eligibility; playoff performance determines final podium positions.
  • The competition organizers reserve the right to resolve exceptional technical or procedural situations in accordance with the official competition rules.
